i was up all night— thinking, dreaming, and planning. around 7:30 AM this morning, after a restless night of researching and pinning, i had this thought:
“don’t get caught up in chasing something, be consumed with serving people”
b/c, here’s the thing:
the online space makes it feel like we ought to be chasing something. we ought to be chasing the next goal, the next idea. it makes us think that where we are is not enough and we better hustle to keep up.
but, the truth is: if we run our businesses like that— always chasing something— we’ll soon find we’re running ourselves into the ground.
chasing something is not sustainable.
the better game plan: be consumed with using your gifts, talents, and knowledge to serve people. because, when we’re focused on serving people well— we’ll find ourselves naturally growing and evolving and outdoing what we once did.
the magic of business is learning how to show up and serve well.
so, in the spirit of servanthood, here’s a couple of ways you can show up and serve your clients and community well:
1. UNDERSTAND AND PRIORITIZE CLIENT NEEDS: creative entrepreneurs should take the time to thoroughly understand their clients’ needs, goals, and pain points. active listening and effective communication are crucial in this process. by tailoring your products or services to meet specific client requirements, you can provide more value and demonstrate your commitment to customer satisfaction.
2. EMBRACE INNOVATION AND CREATIVITY: as creative entrepreneurs, we must stay ahead of the curve by continuously innovating and bringing fresh ideas to the table. clients appreciate novel solutions that set you apart from your competitors. by pushing the boundaries of creativity, you can deliver unique and impactful outcomes for your clients.
3. PROVIDE EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE: outstanding customer service is a cornerstone of success for any business. responding promptly to client inquiries, addressing concerns, and maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor can make a significant difference in how clients perceive the you and your brand.
4. DELIVER CONSISTENT QUALITY: consistency in delivering high-quality products or services is vital for establishing a strong reputation in the industry. as creative entrepreneurs, it’s important to invest in refining your skills and maintaining a standard of excellence that clients can rely on.
5. BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS: establishing strong relationships with clients goes beyond the transactional aspect of business. taking a personalized approach, remembering important details about clients, and showing genuine interest in their success fosters trust and loyalty.
6. PROVIDE VALUE-ADDED SERVICES: going the extra mile by offering value-added services or bonuses can leave a lasting impression on clients. this could be in the form of additional resources, educational content, or complementary services that complement your main offering.
7. UTILIZE TECHNOLOGY EFFECTIVELY: embracing relevant technology and tools can streamline operations and improve client interactions. this may include project management software, collaboration tools, online portfolio showcases, or even AI-powered solutions that can enhance creative output.
8. DEVELOP LONG-TERM PARTNERSHIPS: rather than focusing solely on short-term projects, aim to foster long-term partnerships with your clients. cultivating ongoing relationships can lead to repeat business and referrals, which are invaluable for sustained success.
last but not least, here’s the bonus:
if you want to serve your clients well— invest in a website that is easy to navigate, concise yet informative, and keeps them scrolling b/c it’s so beautiful and captivating.
don’t just depend on your services and products to shine, serving a client well starts at the first touchpoint— your website.
when you invest in your website and how it looks an functions— your showing your potential clients that you care. you care about the details. you care about their experience. you care about making things easy for them. you care about making every aspect of working with you enjoyable.
